Crochet @ Cama 2010

OK gang today is absolutely the last day to register and receive the  early bird prices for our fabulous retreat,

Crochet @ Cama 2011.

Held on beautiful Camano Island, in Washington State, you have four days dedicated to crochet, crocheters, and all that is crochetable!

We have top teachers and designers ready and waiting to offer you their wisdom, knowledge and experience! Events such as our fabulous Yarn Tasting, Private LYS Party, Tea Tasting and oh so fuzzy and cute a tour of a local Camano Island Alpaca Farm! Over 50 of the little fuzzy critters are just waiting for us to ooh and ahh of them!

Picture this! Early in the morning you wake up to mist rolling off the Puget Sound, the only noise is the cry of a gull or the chattering of the resident Bald Eagles. The lapping of the Sound  as it washes on to the cobble beach, muffled by the foggy morning air. The smell of fresh coffee drifts through the marine breeze, and you stumble quietly to the breakfast gathering.

Fearless Husband, Jeff is an EXCELLENT breakfast cook!

Jeff’s cooked up a batch of muffins, and fresh fruit awaits you to start your day with coffee, tea or even a bit of hot cocoa.  Teachers and students mingle, morning announcements are made, well fed and inspired this is how you will start your days! Come on, it just doesn’t get better than this!

Maybe you are taking Karen’s class about the Lover’s Knot (Solomon’s Knot), or Andee’s class on Contemplative Crochet, maybe you’re learning to do Free Form with Bonnie Pierce or how to design your own Hoodie with Jason and Shannon. You might choose to carve crochet hooks with Jimbo, or you could be making beautiful crochet cables with Deb Burger, or you may even be in the kitchen Dyeing to Crochet with yours truly or you could be learning advanced Felting techniques with Tracie Barrett! Each day you’ll have an opportunity to have expert instruction that will open your crochet skills to new levels, while having a great time relaxing and making friends (or catching up with old friends!)

Did I mention prizes?

Off to lunch we go, and then into town for our private party at local yarn store Pinch Knitters, after this fun and fibery party sit with Laurie Wheeler and learn about your yarn purchases, discuss project options. You could be in a round table with hook enthusiasts and carvers Julia Chambers and Jim “Jimbo” Price.  Maybe you have a crochet emergency, well “Dr. Crochet” Deb Burger will be on hand to help!

We’ll be crocheting hats (designed by Laurie Wheeler) for our retreat partner Center For Wooden Boats and we’ll have programs and music……. does it ever end? Sadly yes, on Thursday morning I can guarentee there will be leaky eyes and sniffles…but then we’ll be planning for next year.
